Demand for psychology professionals has become increasingly high. Therefore, with the support of faculty having psychology-related backgrounds, built on the foundation of the Teacher Education Center and the Graduate School of Education, a new department was established in 2003, with the name of Department of Educational Psychology and Counseling under the School of Social Sciences. Courses in educational psychology and counseling as well as business psychology were the two major concentrations. <br><br>\nAfter further consideration that counseling is more in line with the professional image and future trends, the DCIOP officially changed its name to Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology in 2005. After stable establishment of these two areas of curriculum, the Department further changed its name to Department of Counseling and Industrial\/Organizational Psychology (DCIOP), becoming the first in the nation to include counseling and I\/O psychology in a single department in 2008. <br><br>\nAt the same time, our department has included courses in clinical psychology for nearly 8 years. As a result, our students have been more competitive compared to other counseling departments in terms of their training.\nMany graduates from our department's undergraduate program have pursued further studies in various fields, such as clinical psychology, counseling psychology, as well as industrial and human resources research institutes, showcasing the diversity in their career development. <br><br>\nBased on the recommendations made by the external reviewers during the academic year 2020-2021 evaluation of the Department of Psychology, and considering the future development of the department, the department has proposed to change its name to better align with the current curriculum grouping (Counseling, Clinical, and Industrial-Organizational Psychology). Starting from the academic year 2023-2024, the department will be officially renamed as the \"Department of Counseling, Clinical and Industrial-Organizational Psychology\" to highlight its unique characteristics.<\/div><div id=\"panel-e9933-15\" class=\"x-tabs-panel e9933-15\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-e9933-15\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-x-toggleable=\"tab-item-e9933-15\">In the academic year 2008-2009, our department focused on teaching and research in occupational health psychology, and established a master's program with separate counseling and industrial-organizational tracks. In the academic year 2002-2003, we also established an executive master's program<br><br>\nTo better meet the professional demands of the field, starting from the academic year 2014-2015, the master's program has shifted its educational focus to counseling psychology, aiming to train professional counselors. Meanwhile, the executive master's program continues to emphasize industrial-organizational psychology to cultivate workplace health psychology competencies among professionals.
