The aim is to train students with deeper and broader mental health professional vision and ability.

Strengths in academia-industry collaboration

Through academia-industry collaboration agreement with Taoyuan Psychiatric Center, under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Master’s Program students in the Counseling concentration can learn from psychiatrists in the professional practical training setting for one academic year. This is the only psychiatry academia-industry cooperative learning model for counseling psychology students in the R.O.C. In addition, the Department has established year-long collaboration models with Taipei Prison, ShouShan High School, GuiShan Middle School, TianJin AnDing Hospital in China, and several other institutions. The Bachelor’s and Master’s Program students may apply to enter these institutions for research and practical training, thus bridging between academia and industry to effectively prepare for the job market upon graduation.

Abundance of learning and teaching software and hardware

The DCIOP faculty in counseling and clinical psychology are licensed practicing professionals. However, our program is distinctive in its emphasis on aspects related to 'people'. Therefore, in addition to the core courses in industrial psychology such as human resource management, organizational behavior, and marketing, our curriculum also includes courses in foundational or applied psychology, such as social psychology and counseling psychology. This is to help students acquire diverse knowledge in various fields of psychology while also integrating and applying it to their professional careers.

Excellent and Diverse Faculty

On the one hand, our graduate program integrates faculty members from various specialized fields within the department, including industrial, counseling, quantitative, and basic psychology, to design courses with the goal of encouraging teachers to design courses that complement each other across different fields. At the same time, we actively seek to expand our faculty to include outstanding experts from industry or academia who can bring their expertise to our teaching. This approach has been well-received by our students.

Course FeaturesOur department emphasizes the teaching philosophies of independent learning and learning by doing.
